Chief Meteorologist Brad Nitz and Severe Weather Team 2 have recently made improvements to the "The WSBTV Weather App," Atlanta's leading weather application.

Key features of the app now include:

• A new radar with 250-meter resolution, providing the highest level of accuracy available. It not only matches the radar found on other digital platforms, but also includes future radar functionality, giving users a likely path and outlook of storms.
• Additional alert types such as earthquakes and storm tracks, allowing users to track the location, magnitude, speed, direction, and type of storms. These new features can be accessed by tapping the "storm symbols" icon in the radar interface.
• FREE push alerts for over 25 alert types, covering everything from tornado warnings to winter storm warnings and tropical storm alerts.
• A redesigned home screen that enables users to easily access all necessary information on one tab.
• Locally crafted forecasts specific to the Atlanta market, created by WSB's team of expert meteorologists. Users can also identify which member of Severe Weather Team 2 crafted the local forecast. This level of local expertise is not typically available in national weather apps.
• Enhanced location pin functionality, allowing users to precisely mark any address or position on a map and name it according to their preference.
• Tablet and handset compatibility with identical features.
